NPR : Artist Draws 'Clean' Graffiti from Dirty Walls

Lets give Moose a medal.

NPR : Artist Draws 'Clean' Graffiti from Dirty Walls: "Morning Edition, July 15, 2004 ยท A British street artist known as Moose creates graffiti by cleaning dirt from sidewalks and tunnels -- sometimes for money when the images are used as advertising. But some authorities call it vandalism.

British authorities aren't sure what to make of the artist who is creating graffiti by cleaning the grime of urban life. The Leeds City Council has been considering what to do with Moose. 'I'm waiting for the kind of Monty Python court case where exhibit A is a pot of cleaning fluid and exhibit B is a pair of my old socks,' he jokes."

Programmer's day - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Happy Programmer's Day to all my friends and geeks.

Programmer's day - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: "Programmer's day is a 'holiday' on the 256th day of the year celebrated mostly by computer programmers (reason: 256 = 2 to the power of 8 = the number of values representable in a byte of data). Traditions include drinking, behaving silly, playing Demo Ball, coding silly programs, mini computer games, playing with old computers, etc. That, of course, includes the condition that the developer who chooses to celebrate, needs to have done decent coding on all the other days and had tried the best not to behave silly on the other days. For those programmers who are used to the 'celebrations' in their every day lives, this 'holiday' becomes unjustified! Programmer's day usually falls on September 13th; on leap years, it is September 12th.

Some people feel that counting should start from 0. However, even if you count from 0 it does not change the fact that there are still 8 bits in a byte representing 256 values. Therefore, if you start counting at 0 on January 1 then the 256th day falls on the number 255 which does not change the day that the holiday falls on, unless it is leap year."

Software Quality

A software quality trainer posed this difficult question to a class of development managers: "If, after boarding a plane, you found out your development team had designed and implemented the software used on the plane, how manyof you would ask to get off?"

All but one person raised their hands. The one holdout explained that he wasn't worried. He was confident that if his team did the software, the plane would not make it to the runway, let alone take off.
